Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the cable car system and all related tourism facilities.
- Develop, implement, and regularly review safety protocols, emergency preparedness, and rescue procedures.
- Ensure compliance with national laws/regulations, engineering standards, and insurance/safety audits.
- Set and maintain high standards of customer service—from ticketing to boarding, in-transit services, amenities, and post-service feedback.
- Handle customer complaints and feedback, and ensure service recovery protocols are effective.
- Prepare annual operating budgets, financial forecasts, and capital expenditure plans.
- Monitor revenues, costs, and profitability; identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or service.
- Ensure accurate reporting (monthly, quarterly, annually) to senior management / Board.
- Identify and implement ways to increase ridership, improve yield, and diversify revenue streams (e.g., through retail, meals, transportation, souvenir sales, etc.).
- Recruit, train, develop, and supervise all staff (technical, operations, customer service, etc.).
- Handle risk management: insurance, liability, incident reporting, and crisis management.
- Regular reporting to RKD Holdings’ senior leadership / Board on operations, finance, safety, customer satisfaction, and strategic initiatives.
- Engage with government agencies, local communities, tourism boards, and local businesses.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, Hospitality / Tourism Management, or related).
- Minimum of 3–5 years in senior management or leadership roles overseeing large teams and multiple functional areas.
- Knowledge of safety and emergency rescue protocols relevant to aerial ropeways/transportation systems.
- Strategic thinking, planning & business development skills.
- Excellent leadership qualities; ability to lead, motivate, and develop a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong decision-making skills; able to act and remain calm under pressure or crises.
- Good communication skills (both Nepali and English), negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Experience in managing customer satisfaction, service standards, and continuous improvement.
- Sensitivity to local culture and needs of tourists; ability to create memorable guest experiences.
- Understanding of national safety and engineering regulations for cable cars/transport systems.
- Awareness of environmental legislation, labor law, permits, and local regulations.
- Integrity, reliability, accountability.
- Proactive, result-oriented, with the ability to plan and prioritize.
