Role Overview
The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth, expanding distribution, and managing channel partners within the assigned territory. The role involves leading the distributor network, executing market strategies, and ensuring brand visibility and availability across retail outlets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Revenue Growth
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned territory.
Develop and implement sales strategies to grow market share.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and consumer demand.

2. Distributor Management
Appoint and manage distributors within the territory.
Ensure distributor profitability and stock availability.
Monitor distributor performance and provide guidance for business growth.

3. Retail & Market Expansion
Expand product distribution across general trade, modern trade, and wholesale channels.
Ensure the availability of products in key retail outlets.
Identify new markets and growth opportunities.

4. Team Management
Recruit, train, and manage Sales Officers / Sales Representatives.
Set daily, weekly, and monthly sales plans for the team.
Monitor field performance and provide coaching.

5. Trade Marketing Execution
Implement trade schemes, promotions, and marketing campaigns.
Ensure proper execution of POSM (Point of Sale Materials) and brand visibility in stores.
Coordinate with the marketing team for local activations.

6. Market Intelligence
Gather market feedback on pricing, competition, and product performance.
Report insights to management for strategic decision-making.

7. Sales Reporting
Prepare and submit sales reports, market visit reports, and distributor reports.
Track secondary sales, stock levels, and collection status.

Experience
5–8 years of FMCG sales experience
2–3 years in a managerial / territory role
